Sales Tips for the Holidays

The holidays are almost here! Need to crank things up and boost your income before year-end? Whether you’re a musician, author, speaker, coach, creative, or entrepreneur, I’ve got some quick ideas for you.

Bundle it, baby!

Tip #1: Bundle a couple of items or services to add more holiday magic. For example, if you teach music, bundle a set of sticks or strings with a 4-pack of lessons or offer the 4th lesson free. Music peeps, I did a podcast with more tips. If you missed it, click here.

Bundling would work for speakers, authors, and coaches as well. You could include your book with every talk or program purchased or a free follow-up call. I add extra perks all the time for coaching clients. Some are low-cost like my book or much higher, depending on the coaching program purchased (like a free promo video or a therapeutic drumming session or 2. I let them choose.).

For service providers, why not add a free gift that goes with your services? It could be a candle, lotion, tea or coffee, a journal, etc.

Tip #2: Offer a holiday discount. I do this every year. My deal is 20% off private coaching, therapeutic drumming or drum healing. Musicians: I just discounted my online program by $100 so take a peek! I also posted my offers on Alignable, on social media, and on Next Door, which is great for community posts.

Tip #3: Offer a friend’s discount. This could be a discount for a second item, ticket, or program purchased. You could also discount the client’s price if they refer a friend. For example, “Bring a friend and get $2 (or $10) off your ticket price!” Discount depends on the cost of the ticket or program. A coaching workshop or program is obviously more than the ticket price to see a local band.

Tip #4: Reach out to your list or customers! Make sure you check in with your peeps! It’s a great way to wish them Happy Holidays! You can also gently mention something they might be interested in. This is a fine line. You don’t want to be pushy if you’re sending out a card, for example. Sometimes, I just say “Please let me know if I can help you in any way.” An easy way to do this is to either send a holiday e-blast or use a service like SendOut Cards.

Hope that helps you generate some extra jingle…and spread some holiday cheer!
